Adelaide Lions CC won the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association T20 Division 2 grand final with a 12 runs victory against Old Ignatians Cricket Club. The grand final was played at the Atkinson Oval Athelstone on 26th February 2019. Adelaide Lions won the toss and elected to bat first and posted 9/131 on the board.
Batting first at the Atkinson Oval, the Lions struggled early to be 4 for 45, before D. Abeyagunawardene and R Premachandra came together and put up a good partnership to pushed the score to 131. D Abeyagunawardene top scored with 36 with the final score ending up at 9/131 from 20 overs. In reply, wickets fell consistently throughout the innings as the Ignatians pushed towards Lion’s total 131.  Very good bowling performances from P Kumarasiri 2/16, D Abeyagunawardene 3/23, R Premachandra 2/19 and L Hasith 2/25 brings the Adelaide Lions a well deserved win.

A thrilling grand final win at the Atkinson Oval on Tuesday night has seen Adelaide Lions CC claim its first T20 championship in just its first season competing. Congratulations to Adelaide Lions CC for winning the T20 Championship!
